SERVICES
Home & Community
Therapy in the spaces where your child actually lives, plays, and grows.
• One-on-one ABA sessions delivered in your home and community environments — parks, grocery stores, libraries, sports practices
• Targets practical, daily-living skills that generalize immediately to real life
• Parents and siblings are naturally included in the therapy process
• Ideal for children of all ages and skill levels across Northern Virginia
• Flexible scheduling built around your family’s routine — mornings, afternoons, or evenings
Home and community ABA is among the most powerful forms of intervention available because learning happens precisely where skills will be used. Your child’s therapist becomes a trusted presence in their daily world, and progress compounds session by session. We serve families across Great Falls, McLean, Herndon, Reston, Vienna, Fairfax, and beyond.
Early Intervention ABA
The most impactful window for change — and we make the most of it.
• Specialized ABA programs for children ages 2–6 during the critical developmental period
• Play-based, Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Intervention (NDBI) approaches
• Priority focus on communication, joint attention, imitation, and pre-academic readiness
• Intensive parent coaching woven into every single session — not added on as an afterthought
• Coordination with Virginia’s Part C (Infant & Toddler Connection) and Part B early childhood programs
Decades of research confirm that early, intensive intervention produces the greatest long-term gains for children with autism. Starting before age five can meaningfully alter a child’s developmental trajectory — expanding their world in ways that continue for a lifetime. We prioritize early intervention referrals and work diligently to begin services quickly.
School-Based ABA
Helping Virginia students succeed in the classroom and beyond.
• Collaborative work with IEP teams, special education teachers, and general ed staff in Fairfax County and surrounding Virginia school districts
• Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) development, implementation support, and fidelity monitoring
• Staff and teacher training on ABA strategies, prompting hierarchies, and positive behavior support
• Transition planning between home, school, and community settings
Kind Nest Academy is proud to collaborate with Fairfax County Public Schools and neighboring Northern Virginia districts. We believe that the school environment is one of the most important arenas for a child’s development — and that ABA support, delivered well and collaboratively, can open doors that might otherwise remain closed.
Social Skills Groups
Building real friendships in a safe, structured, and joyful environment.
• Evidence-based social skills curricula targeting conversation initiation, play skills, perspective-taking, and conflict resolution
• Age-appropriate groups for toddlers, elementary-age children, and middle schoolers
• Available in person in Great Falls, VA and via secure telehealth for Virginia families
• Parent debrief and home practice strategies provided after every group session
Social skills are not acquired in isolation — they require real, guided practice with real peers. Kind Nest Academy’s social skills groups create the ideal conditions: enough structure to feel safe, enough peer interaction to feel real, and enough therapist support to make it successful. Many children who join our groups form friendships that extend well beyond the sessions themselves.
Parent Training & Coaching
Turning the most important people in your child's life into confident, capable partners.
• Covers: reinforcement strategies, prompting and fading, functional communication training, managing challenging behavior, building independence
• Available in your home, at our Great Falls office, or via secure telehealth
• Bilingual support available — English/Spanish and English/Farsi upon request
• Measurable caregiver competency goals — not just information delivery, but skill-building you can use immediately
The research is unambiguous: ABA therapy produces far better outcomes when caregivers are actively involved and trained. At Kind Nest Academy, parent training is not an add-on — it is a core component of every program we build. Families who engage deeply with coaching report lower stress, greater confidence, and children who make faster, more durable progress.
Telehealth ABA
Accessible, flexible ABA support for Virginia families — anywhere in the Commonwealth.
• Best suited for parent and caregiver training, BCBA consultation, and select skill-building programs
• Available to any family located within the Commonwealth of Virginia
• No commute, no disrupted schedules — quality care delivered to your living room
• Accepted by Virginia Medicaid managed care plans and many commercial insurers for approved telehealth services
Telehealth ABA removes the geographic barriers that prevent many Virginia families — especially those in rural areas or with complex schedules — from accessing the services their children need. While direct, in-person therapy remains the core of our model, telehealth opens doors for coaching, consultation, and community support that would otherwise be out of reach.
