ABA THERAPY

Personalized ABA Therapy That Moves at Your Child's Pace

Applied Behavior Analysis therapy is not a single script delivered the same way to every child. At Kind Nest Academy, it is a living, breathing program — continuously refined based on your child’s data, your family’s feedback, and the latest clinical evidence. We serve children from toddlers through teenagers across Northern Virginia.

Home & Community

Therapy in your home, yard, and everyday community settings — grocery stores, playgrounds, libraries — where skills are built where they are actually needed.

School Settings

Collaborative support within Fairfax County Public Schools and neighboring Virginia districts, working alongside IEP teams and classroom teachers.

Group Sessions

Structured social skills groups in Great Falls and via telehealth for children who are ready to practice peer interaction in a supported environment.

Telehealth

Secure, flexible virtual sessions for parent training, BCBA consultation, and select skill programs — available to any Virginia family.
WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Family's Path from First Call to First Breakthrough

We know that starting ABA therapy raises as many questions as it answers. Here is exactly what the Kind Nest Academy process looks like from your very first contact with our team.

Step

1

Reach Out

Call, email, or fill out our online form. A real person on our team — never a voicemail system — will respond within one business day to schedule a free 30-minute phone consultation.

Step

2

Free Consultation

We listen first. Tell us about your child, your concerns, and your hopes. We answer every question honestly and help you understand whether ABA therapy — and Kind Nest Academy specifically — is the right fit.

Step

3

Insurance & Intake

Our team verifies your Virginia Medicaid or commercial insurance benefits and handles the prior authorization process. We accept Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, Aetna Better Health of Virginia, Molina, United Healthcare Community Plan, Optima Family Care, and many commercial plans.

Step

4

Comprehensive Assessment

A BCBA spends time with your child across multiple sessions using validated tools (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, or similar) to understand their skills, communication profile, learning style, and behavioral needs. We also conduct in-depth interviews with you — your knowledge of your child is irreplaceable.

Step

5

Treatment Plan Meeting

We present a written, personalized treatment plan with measurable goals. We review it together, invite your input, and revise it until it truly reflects your family’s priorities. This is your plan — we build it with you.

Step

6

Therapy Begins

Sessions start with a therapist your child will quickly come to trust. Your BCBA supervises regularly, reviews data, and updates goals as your child grows. You receive regular progress reports and are always welcome to reach out between meetings.
