OUR STORY

A Practice Built on a Belief: Every Child Belongs

Kind Nest Academy was founded by clinicians who had spent years working within larger behavioral health systems and kept coming back to the same frustration: families in Northern Virginia were waiting too long, receiving too little personalized attention, and being treated as cases rather than people.

We decided to build something different. A practice small enough to treat every family like a neighbor — because many of them are. A team that stays invested in a child’s progress long after goals are met. A clinical culture that takes pride in asking “are we really helping?” and being honest about the answer.

Today, Kind Nest Academy LLC serves families across Great Falls, McLean, Herndon, Reston, Vienna, Fairfax, Ashburn, Sterling, and the broader Northern Virginia region. We are proud to be a locally owned, Virginia-based practice.

OUR VALUES

The Beliefs That Guide Every Clinical Decision We Make

The Child Is Always First

Every protocol we use, every goal we set, and every session we design centers on one question: is this genuinely good for this child?

Families Are Essential, Not Optional

Parents and caregivers are not bystanders. They are trained, supported, and treated as full partners in their child's progress.

Growth Never Stops

We hold ourselves to the same standard of continuous learning that we set for the children we serve. Our clinical team attends conferences, completes CEUs, and actively engages with the latest ABA research.

Honesty Before Comfort

We tell families the truth — about progress, about timelines, about what ABA can and cannot accomplish. Trust is earned through honesty.

Virginia Is Our Community

Our staff lives here. Our children attend school here. We are embedded in this community and take responsibility for making it better.

Kindness and Science Are Not in Conflict

Rigorous, data-driven ABA delivered with genuine warmth and respect produces better outcomes than clinical detachment. We believe both matter equally.

FEEDBACK

LEADERSHIP TEAM QUOTES

Clinical Director, Kind Nest Academy

BCBA-D
Watching a child use language for the first time to ask for something they love — that never gets ordinary. That moment is why every person on our team shows up every single day.

Lead BCBA, Kind Nest Academy

BCBA-D
Parents often come to us exhausted and uncertain. Our job is not just to help their child grow — it is to help families find their footing again. That dual mission is what makes this work so deeply meaningful.

Senior Behavior Analyst

BCBA, Northern Virginia
I joined Kind Nest because this team actually debates the ethics of what we do. That intellectual honesty — asking whether our methods truly serve the child — is rare, and it is what keeps our practice excellent.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STATEMENT

Kind Nest Academy is committed to building a team and serving a community that reflects the full diversity of Northern Virginia. We welcome families and staff of all cultural backgrounds, languages, religions, and identities.

We actively work to make our practice linguistically accessible — offering services in English, Spanish, and Farsi — and to ensure that our clinical approaches are culturally responsive, not just technically competent.
